Newly announced member of SISU’s 2022 roster,@melati3000 has been a friend of FOLD for many years now.
Melati’s relationship with raves began in Nottingham with the notorious @wigflex parties, before taking this to the next level after moving to Copenhagen and falling in love with their rich, fast-techno culture. This exposure heavily influenced her music style once back in London, learning to mix on vinyl using Danish techno and UK bass and garage accumulated from bulk buys. It was in lockdown, after buying her first pair of CDJs when her skills grew exponentially and her sound rapidly evolved into her sillier, faster sound that she is known for today.
After taking these years to studiously build her style, Melati’s multi-genre approach has opened herself to a range of opportunities in the past year since the world opened back up. This has led to her playing much-lauded sets at prestigious events Jawdance and @dasbootyrave, before being subsequently booked by Planet Fun to play at this year’s Bangface festival. Last month she was announced as part of the new 2022 roster for SISU - the London collective that champions female and non-binary artists. With a residency at Floorless Festival and her own radio show on AAJA Radio that she co-hosts with Arkadian, the future is looking good for Melati.
